Coastline Journal publishes essays and commentary which reflect the wide range of reading and writing to be found in graduate liberal studies programs across North America. Unlike many academic disciplines, liberal studies does not focus on one discipline, but rather views subjects through a wide-angle lens, a cross-disciplinary approach incorporating philosophy, history, literature, science, art, economics, and the sciences to examine questions from several vantage points.

You are welcome to respond to a writer in the comments window found at the end of each essay. Because reading long articles online can be tiring,  each essay has a link (directly under the title) allowing you to download it. Rights are reserved and remain with each essays’ author.
